Wow, what a week it's been in Cape Town!
You know when you feel like you're on a path and everything is flowing as it should-like the Universe is just helping you because you are exactly where you should be? That's how this past week has been.
From the minute Rhinosaverz picked me up at the airport, everything has been on high speed in the best direction I could ever imagine.
We had dinner at the home of the great conservationist Braam Malherbe. If you've never heard this guy speak, please, go search one of his talks. His knowledge and experience in this field is like no other. I have definitely found my mentor in this field of work who I already trust completely.
Then the next day we were sent to meet a great man named Paul Hart who runs Drakenstein Lion Park. This is an incredible place if you want to properly learn about lion conservation & never handle the animals. Paul then sent us to see Blood Lions, which I had been trying to see for awhile. Extremely moving film that everyone must see when it becomes available. They did a great job at capturing the plight of the lions and exposing a lot of what is happening to them. Please do yourself a favor and watch this film!
Another day we went out on the water with Adrenalised Diving & Ocean Adventurer & learned all about ocean conservation, which was extremely eye opening.
Meanwhile we were also getting ready for our adventure ahead, which start full force tomorrow!
Oh, and yes...yesterday was my birthday. I have to say, it was the best birthday I've had in a really long time. We had 3 interviews around the city, ran a bunch of errands & ended the day with friends at a nice dinner. It was perfect. Thank you for all of the birthday wishes online too-I try to read everything. I'm sorry if I don't always respond, but I try to at least see if all & write when I can.
I'm in Johannesburg right now about to go to sleep. I will be up early & heading to Victoria Falls. There will be so much to learn, see & document. I am very much looking forward to whatever the Universe has in store for me.
More when I'm not so sleepy. Off to bed. Thank you all-lots of love....~xoxo Shannon
